Option One: Application Package

For students going through the college application and essay writing process. Includes:

​School analysis

Student provides a list of potential colleges or universities and consultant assesses fit prior to application submission. Additional colleges may be suggested where appropriate.

Essay support — 1 essay

Consultant assists in the revision of one application essay, either based on a prompt from the Common Application or from a college or university’s own application form. Consultant does not write the essay for student.

Resume support – 2 resumes (school activities and riding)

Consultant assists student with assembling a school activities list for college applications, including athletic, club, volunteer, and work experiences (targeted to admission officers), as well as a separate resume related specifically to the student’s riding experiences (targeted to college riding coaches).

​​Advising related to school and coach contacts

Consultant advises student on how and when to contact admission officers, college riding coaches, and other staff members, including arranging mock phone calls and reviewing draft emails.

Interview preparation (where applicable)

Consultant will conduct mock interviews with students who have been selected to interview for admission, scholarship, and program-specific opportunities.

Next steps meeting after school is selected

One meeting between consultant, student, and parent(s) to outline next steps to be taken between graduation and matriculation to selected college or university.

 
 
 
 

 
 
 

Option Two: Long-Term Consulting Package

For students embarking on the college search. Includes:

Assistance building a school list

Based on student’s initial assessment results and a list of college preferences assembled by student and parent, consultant works with student to research schools that offer programs and opportunities that fit within the student’s academic, athletic, social, and financial parameters.

College list management tool

Consultant builds a shared document to assist student and parent(s) with tracking school interest, comparing colleges/universities, and conducting college-specific research.

Essay support — 1 essay, 1 additional essay if needed

Series of three meetings between consultant, student, and parent(s) to outline next steps to be taken between graduation and matriculation to selected college/university. Covers orientation planning, preparation for living in a dorm room, and other transitional issues.
